This blog has been created to discover the perceptions of social media and how it has effected our ability to communicate. The questions below are guiding my curiosity and search.

Has it made us less skilled in simple things such as writing and reading? (so many terms are abbreviated these days that for those of us who studied and learnt before the age of social media, these abbreviations are a foreign language). How long has social media been around? How long will it survive? What will be the next model of social media to sweep the world wide web? Has new media changed the way we communicate? Is this new form of media communication a space of diversity in its population and thoughts or is it a homogeneous place? In direct relation to the course I am studying, what kinds of opportunities and challenges does the new media space provide in terms of Indigenous empowerment and self-definition?

If you have things to add, share or comment on, please do.
I am new to the world of blogging, so bare with me as I navigate my way through...
