Definition of some relevant terms...

Below I have defined the terms which I am most interested in finding perspectives, thoughts, articles and information about. These are terms that will build the focus of this blog space. Each term interest's me on their own as well as their combined effect. This 'effect' could be how it changes communication in this country, the world, the effect on globalisation and our seemingly desperate need to know what is happening here and now rather than wait and see.

New Media
"New Media is a 21st Century catchall term used to define all that is related to the internet and the interplay between technology, images and sound. In fact, the definition of new media changes daily, and will continue to do so. New media evolves and morphs continuously. What it will be tomorrow is virtually unpredictable for most of us, but we do know that it will continue to evolve in fast and furious ways." (Socha and Eber-Schmid.)

Indigenous - The Readers Digest Oxford Complete Wordfinder dictionary and thesaurus (1990) defines the term Indigenous "as (of people) born in a region, belonging naturally to a place."

Empower - The Readers Digest Oxford Complete Wordfinder dictionary and thesaurus (1990) defines the term Empower "as give power to, make able."
