Below is a link to an incredibly interesting article on new media. It is a combination of short essays discussing different elements and findings on the effect new media has on today's society, on our communication and how new media could revolutionise communication, decision making, culture, language and much more. This is a link to a new app named iBobbly, created to help reduce the rate of suicide in remote Aboriginal Communities. The use of mobile phones and tablets in some remote communities was seen as a great avenue in connecting with vulnerable people and offering support using the new age of social media. An interesting example of how social media has been used within a Remote community setting to connect with and develop strategies for communication.
